D Venkatesh

D Venkatesh joined the Jhaveri Microbiology Centre in 1991 after a two-year stint as a Patient Care Assistant at LVPEI. Today a TG5 Technologist at JMC, he feels that in his 28 years long career, never has he felt bored as there was always something new to learn and exciting to do. “Initially in our lab, we used to test 5 samples a day and now the number has risen to around 40 samples a day. Responsible for supervising the diagnostic work at the lab, from time to time based on the need I acquired new skill sets and underwent training”, says Venkatesh.

Part of the NABH internal audit committee for carrying out Operating Room (OR) surveillance (ensuring that the set norms for sterility in the OR are maintained), he has is actively involved in OR surveillance for the LVPEI’s KAR, KVC and GRMV campuses and the connected secondary centres. He also plays a key role in mentoring and guiding the microbiology lab technicians at other campuses. Till date the centre has been involved in numerous studies and Venkatesh has been an integral part of these studies.

“I have been associated with JMC since its inception and it gives me immense pleasure to witness the growth that the centre has achieved today and I derive immense satisfaction from the fact that I have been part of this growth”, concludes Venkatesh.
